Back cover for album.
On te back cover of the album i have used the same text for the album name as the text i used to write the artists name on the back cover as i wanted to further the affect of the  teme of the artsist rising up.

Front cover
The idea behind this front cover is having the sky in the background as the album is called the ascent also he is sitting on steps which are a representation of climbing or descent but in this case its signifies a ascent and as he is in the middle it shows that he is on his way to the top. 

Alternative Front cover
The impact of the front cover is that the artist appears to be standing on the earth even though the shot is taken from a high angle he dosent seem inferior because of what he is standing on something everyone no matter who they are will know is large. Its almost as if he is the king of the world and above everyone else, this also compliments the name of the album well as the definition for ascension means the action of rising to an important position or a higher level while. The album art work is a visual representation of the album title. I was told i couldn't use the picture because i screen shot the earth from google earth

For our music video we had the chance to get feedback from our classmates to help us improve our production our video got mainly negative feedback from my pears as the draft was incomplete in places and the confusion with the two artsist made video hard to understand
Positives:
The costume of the artists was appropriate
Good choice of locations
Nice use of props
Good imagery
Good matching of Lyrics and visuals

Negatives:
Story was not clear no clear narrative
Two artsist's confused viewers
Lighting in some of the shots
Bad lip-syncing
Gaps in the video

From the feedback we got it was clear we where gonna have to only use one artist so we cut one of our artists and filmed some more footage to fill the gap that was left behind by that. Also we tried to fix the lip-syncing in the edit so that most of the video is in sync however it was hard because our artist has a language barrier and english isn't his only language we overcame this as best as we could by doing multiple shoots of the the shame shot to get the best one. With the lighting afte we gt rid of the inside scenes the problem with lighting was gone so that problem was fixed.

This is a story board picture that gives us a guideline of what we wanna shoot and a structure to shoot it in

This s the final shot list that me and Tsharwn decided on together it has the shots that we want to get  as well as using this we are also going to use any alternative plans as well as we made need them if our shots go wrong. we have sots on rooftops and in places where its difficult to film so having a clear idea of what we are filming will help towards the procedure of actually filming.

This is another ay we came up with ideas for shots we went through each line and thought of visuals to match lyrics of the song line by line until we had a rough idea and then we repeated this two more times so that we  had multiple ideas to choose from. This also helped us decide on the lighting that we wanted in our video the props that we planned on using and we started to come up with ideas for locations.

Locations for pictures

Locations for our album pictures where all set inside the Olympic park and some where taken at my house  and in Beckton area. we used the Olympic park because of the interesting structures in the area also there are no buildings obstructing us from getting scenery in the background also there are less people in that area so its easy to get photos with no one in the background although we still experienced that problem while we where taking the photos.

Unused pictures:

The theme for these pictures was giving our artist hight as the name of the album is the ascent so we shot our artist from low angles and we had some straight shots with the city skyline in the background to make it clear that he was high up. Also shooting from a low angle and creating a sense of hight makes our artist look dominant because its like we are looking up at him. This goes with our genre of music.

Problems with filming

This footage is what we first filmed and put together but it had many problems with its and it was clear that we where going to have make change. there are shaky shots and problems with framing also the weather and time of year we where filming meant that it got dark quickly forcing us to stop filming on some occasions because of the lighting. We also didn't control the costume that our artists was wearing this meant that sometimes his clothes didn't represent the genre the best it could.
